Wonka Factory Machine

I was responsible for help develop the final concept and do the modeling of those machines. We had a basic concept and blocking and it was up to me to refine it and test ideas in the 3D environment. I end up creating a few versions of it so the VFX Sup could choose the one he liked the most.
I modeled everything in the first two images and highlighted what I did for the other machine in the fourth image.
The central mechanism (the round part that spins in the center of the second machine was done by my friend Mike Yip and the birds were done by my friend Danielle Shiramizu.
This model was extensively used for the movie promotion and social media.
